Kind of crazy to say but my three boys own over 30 nerf guns combined. I have been falling over them constantly and am so over it. We have tried storing them in bins and also on a peg wall but failed at both attempts. I went to amazon to see what was available and found this nerf gun storage. It looks practical but not big enough for what I need. So I decided to go ahead and build my own. Feel free to watch a reel of the process on my instagram and the plans are below!
Materials:
(1) 3/4″ plywood 2×4′ sheet
(1) 1×6 pine board
(1) 1×2 pine board
(1) 1/4″ plywood 2×4′ sheet
1.25″ kreg screws
wood glue
brad nailer
2″ brad nails
Miter saw
Pocket hole jig
Pocket hole clamp

Cut list:
3- 3/4″ plywood at 10.5″ x 24″
3- 1×6 pine boards at 24″ long
1- 1×2 pine board at 24″ long
1- 1×2 pine board at 13″
2- 3/4″ plywood at 10.5″ x 13″
1- 1/4″ plywood at 10.5″ x 39.25″
2- 3/4″ plywood at 8″x10.5″
1-3/4″ plywood at 8″ x 12.5″
Build:
Step 1:
Make all of the cuts per the cut list above
Step 2:
Drill Pocket holes into the ends of each of the 1×6″, 1×2″ and 3/4 plywood 10.5″ x 13″ (on the 10.5″ side) pieces
Step 3:
Attach three of the 1×6″ board to two of the 3/4″ 10.5×24″ plywood pieces with wood glue and 1 1/4″ kreg screws. One should be flush at the top and front face and one flush at the bottom and front face of the plywood. On the other side attach the other 1×6″ at the bottom of the plywood and the 1×2″ flush with the top front. I like to use my pocket hole clamp to keep the boards straight
Step 4:
With the last remaining 10.5″ x 24″ plywood attach a 1×2″ at the top flush with the plywood. Use 1 1/4″ kreg screws and wood. Connect both of the 3/4″ 10.5″x 13″ plywood pieces along the face of the plywood. One needs to be 8.5″ from the bottom and the next one 8.5″ from the bottom and the other 8.5″ above that one.
Step 5:
Now attach the piece you just constructed to the main frame with 1 1/4″ kreg screws and wood glue. I used a large clamp to keep the two pieces in place.
Step 6:
Flip the nerf storage upside down and attach the 1/4″ plywood to the bottom with brad nails and wood glue
Step 7:
Construct the wood box the 12.5″ boards are the front and back. Use wood glue and 2″ kreg screws to attach the 12.5″ boards to the 10.5″ boards and make a box
Step 8:
Attach the 12.5″ x 10.5″ 1/4″ plywood to the bottom of the box with brad nails and screw a hole with a bit that will fit you drawer pull in the center of the front drawer
Step 9:
Sand the nerf storage. Optional: add fluting and edge banding to raw edges.
Step 10:
Prime and paint the nerf storage
Step 11:
Add the drawer pull and put the drawer in place
And there you have it nerf gun storage!! It was super fast and easy to make and it looks so good! I ended up making a second without the extra side storage.
